We, people, experience depression at one point in our lives. It is just natural to feel depressed at times because life has many ups and downs. But there are some persons whose depression become very, very serious. That is when those people really need a counseling.Because the effects can be devastating if the depression gets worse. In this article we are going to look at some signs of knowing when to seek help for depression.

Depression can affect anyone at anytime as said earlier in the article. Things like struggles in marriage or relationships.Or it can also be caused by the loss of a loved one.  The reasons for depression that I see in my depression counselor practice varies so much. But it is always important to know when to seek help for depression.

You can tell a person may need some counseling if the depression extends for a long period of time.Someone would need counseling already if you can notice that he/she is already depressed for days already. Or if someone starts not functioning socially there may be a problem. As a family therapist San Diego I have seen all these symptoms. Once you see them you need to seek out help.

The reason you want to seek help is because often times a depressed person may hurt themselves if left to themselves. But there will be times when instead of hurting themselves they hurt others. The depression has already turned into anger if that happens. When a person feels helpless and hopeless he becomes enraged at his life.  That is when I use my anger management counseling services to help them. Because that anger can hurt others at this point.

Hopefully, you would realize that depression is dangerous if left untreated. If you know someone that has depression you must act very fast. Their safety and others safety could be at risk.
