Panic attack treatment. You may well be asking if there even is one. A drug free cure?
Yes, without the use of drugs these attacks can be stopped. It’s not exactly a “cure” but as near as you will get. You don’t get to take a spoon full of medicine and it’s miraculously cured. But you do get to stop them for good.
I crashed a motorcycle and started to suffer anxiety attacks afterwards. I was given every possible drug to try. They didn’t really work at all and there was the fear that without them the attacks would get worse.
There’s the big problem with medication for anxiety disorders. Even if they work they are going to stop working once you stop the drugs. Any decent doctor won’t let you take drugs for any length of time.
You can’t keep taking medication for ever. And it all starts over again. And when the attacks come back, they are worse because you’ve been dreading them for a while.
In an ideal world a treatment for social anxiety disorders without drugs would be readily available. I can tell you that this treatment does exist and I use it regularly. I fought back and took control.

I used to get anxious just waiting for the next random anxiety attack. I actually know what kicks my anxiety episodes off so “random” isn’t strictly true. If I’m in a crowd of anything more than about three or four people. That will trigger an attack.
It got so bad with me I would run for my life if I got near a small group of people. I did realise that it was all in my head, there was no “real” danger. I still had to flee or risk the consequences.
I did an awful lot of research and spent what seemed like a life time trying to find a permanent cure. It was worth the wait, oh yes was it worth the wait. I saw a lot of doctors and not one ever mentioned the cure I unearthed.
Your choices are, keep taking the (almost useless) drugs. Or start to do what I do every time I feel an attack coming on. I calmly stop it dead and carry on with what I was doing.

I’ve had an anxiety disorder for a while as well, and I deal with it without prescription drugs.
Basically, to deal with my panic attacks and general anxiety I will do one of 3 things.I
1. If possible, I will take some time to sit alone and meditate, it really helps to clear your mind. I cannot suggest this technique more - it takes a while to get to the point where you can meditate easily, but it works better than any medication I’ve ever taken.
2. Write/Talk out my fears at that time. I will write down or say out loud what is causing my anxiety, and the more I read or say them, the stupider they seem.
3. Talk to someone about it. In the past I used to talk to my therapist about my issues, and it did really help, but now that I don’t have health insurance, I talk to my girlfriend about it, and it really helps me out.
I hope these techniques can help you, they really help me.
I really dislike prescriptions and medications in general, I believe they cause more problems than they fix.
