Depression and anger are both bad emotions.  But they seemingly are still on opposite ends of the spectrum. One of them can be seen. While the other one can be unnoticed.

As a family therapist San Diego I have seen both emotions. Both cases need to be attended by an expert if it is already serious.  They are not issues you can leave alone and hope to go way.In the case of anger you can hurt other people. You can harm yourself when depressed.

Let’s talk about anger first. Anger is a dangerous emotion. It is natural and is experienced from time to time by all people.  But sometimes people have it go too far.  Sometimes it seems uncontrollable. And if you don’t control yourself, it can get the best of you.But those are the times when you need to control it.Other people can be hurt physically or emotionally due to anger.  If it gets too much you need to seek some anger management counseling.

The other emotion is depression.  It is somewhat not as noticeable.Holding in their depression is one of the top reasons.  Sure it can get noticeable. When it does become noticeable, usually it is a sign that someone needs professional help.  Why would someone need professional help?  Because a person severly depressed can do harm to themselves.People hide it that’s why it is or can be dangerous.  If a person gets to the point of severe depression they need professional help such as depression counseling.

It is hard when dealing with emotional problems. Most people undergoing these problems feel like they can overcome it on their own.Or they feel like they can handle it on their own without anybody’s help.  But it is at that point that they need help the most.It is unacceptable for them. But when you are dealing with emotions that can hurt the affected and the people around him, then you need to do it.
